This intensive two day course is designed for Pharma/Healthcare executives who are:

  • currently in roles which involve marketing
  • currently in Business Research roles that support PBAC submissions
  • currently in Regulatory/Medical/Clinical Affairs roles that support PBAC submissions
  • Senior Managers/Directors from other functional groups wanting to gain an in-depth understanding of the PBS
  • new to the Australian Healthcare system

This specialised course is applicable to all levels of Pharma Sales and Marketing experience - for example:

Note: Fundamentals of pharmaceutical marketing will not be covered in this course. Although not a pre-requisite, the APMRG recommends the "Introduction to Pharma Marketing" training course for those looking to improve their understanding of the Pharma Marketing role.

Course Objectives & Benefits

This concentrated two day course (incorporating numerous interactive workshops) is designed to provide a stimulating overview of PBS Pricing and Pharmacoeconomics and an understanding of the key concepts essential to pricing and re-imbursement of products on the Australian PBS. The course is aimed at executives with a background in sales or marketing looking to improve their understanding of the intricacies of pricing and re-imbursement in Australia.

  • Back of the envelope models

  • What distinguishes a good from a bad economic evaluation?

Session Six: Preparing a successful PBAC submission - traps & tricks

  • Process mapping a PBAC submission
  • Demonstrating a clinical need
